MONROVIA, LIBERIA - The Liberian Government has launched its second five year National Action Plan and the National Referral Mechanism Plan to combat Trafficking In-Persons (TIP) in Liberia.

The Government launched the plan through the National Anti-Human Trafficking Force, which is a strategy put in palce to guide national endeavor against Trafficking In- Persons, is in direct response to the local, regional and international demand.

According to a Labor Ministry release, the Chairman of the National Anti-Human Trafficking Taskforce, Labor Minister, Moses Kollie, reaffirmed trafficking in the country.

Minister Kollie thanked President George Weah for the endorsing the National Action Plan on Trafficking in Persons and the national Referral Mechanism Document which runs from July –June 20124.

The program is part of series of the Government’s inter-related prior and ongoing actions in response to the threats and challenges caused by trafficking, a transnational crime, using Liberia, as a transit and destination.
