MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Press Union of Liberia (PUL) has with immediate effect, expelled Reporter Sekou Sheriff of Freedom FM and banned him from all PUL activities and functions.

The decision followed the unruly behavior of Mr. Sheriff and the destruction of the Union’s tentative voters’ roll on Monday, November 4, 2019, at the Headquarters of the Union on Clay Street.

Mr. Sheriff believed to be a agent of the National Security Agency (NSA), was allegedly accompanied by other NSA agents prior to and during the act.
The PUL said it has informed the Justice Ministry authorities about the alleged involvement of its agents to vandalize the Union’s information channels.

When contacted, Mr. Sheriff described the Union’s action against him as a mere joke and blatant violation of its Constitution.

He vowed to challenge his expulsion through legal means to get the record straight but denied his connection with the NSA.

Mr. Sheriff however admitted being in possession of the Union’s unofficial voters’ roll, and attributed his action to the Union’s alleged refusal to give him his Membership Identity Card he had paid for.

Meanwhile investigation continues.
