UN Women, Female Journalists Asso. of Liberia signed agreement

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The United Nations Women Group has signed over sixty-five-thousand United States Dollar Project Cooperation Agreement with the female Journalists Association of Liberia (FeJAL).

The Deputy Country Representative of the UN Women,Sangeeta Thapa,said as part of the agreement, FeJAL will target audience by creating and shaping public opinions on the prevention and response to Sexual and Gender-Based Violence among others.

Speaking Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at the UN Office in Sinkor, Monrovia, Madam Thapa challenged members of FeJAL to implement the terms of agreement to ensure the transformation of the media landscape to attain gender equality and empowerment of women and girls.

In remarks, the President of FeJAL, Siatta Scott Johnson, lauded the UN Women for the partnership and promised to implement the terms of agreement.
