(mylbsonline/Liberia)-Government lawyers and Defense Counsels have completed their presentations of evidence in the armed robbery charges against Journalist, Darlington Pelenah and two others.

Government lawyers are representing Weeks Thomas and two others, while Defense Counsel is representing Journalist, Darlington Pelenah and others.

The legal exercise ended Tuesday April 30, 2013 at Criminal Court “D” at the Temple of Justice, following rebuttal witnesses’ presentations.

Government lawyers’ rebuttal witnesses confirmed previous testimonies that Darlington Pelenah, Benjamin Bookie-Gbar and William Randolph armed robbed Weeks Thomas of US$17-thousand.

The rebuttal witnesses said: “The incident took place at Mr. Thomas’ Paynesville residence July 2012, leaving one of the victims, Edwin Thomas, severely injured after he was shot in the head by Defendant Pelenah.”

However, defense witnesses exonerated Journalist Darlington Pelenah, Benjamin Bookie-Gbar and William Randolph from committing the crime.

They said: “The accused were not on the scene when the alleged armed robbery was committed.”

Presiding Judge, Yousuf Kaba, has ordered that the Jury and lawyers of both parties visit the residences of the complainants, defendants and the crime scene Wednesday May 1, 2013.

Legal arguments will take place Thursday May 2, 2013 at Criminal Court “D” at the Temple of Justice in Monrovia.
