Daniel Chea takes early lead in Bassa Senatorial by-election with 44.2%, to Nynblee's 38.8%

(mylbsonline/Liberia)-Provisional results in the Grand Bassa County Senatorial by-election have put Independent Candidate, Daniel Chea, in the lead.

mylbsonline correspondent quotes the National Elections Commission (NEC) as saying: “Mr. Chea has 7,566 votes, totaling 44.2%.”

He is being followed by Liberty Party Candidate, Nyonblee Lawrence, with 6,638 votes, totaling 38.8%.

Unity Party’s Jonathan Kaipay has 2,302 votes, Wah Bedell of the National Patriotic Party has 605 votes, totaling 3.5%.

According to our correspondent, the results cover 183 of the 336 polling places.

The next results are expected to be released Thursday May 9, 2013 by NEC.
