Prez Sirleaf, Cameron review HLP report

(mylbsonline/Liberia)-President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf and British Prime Minister, David Cameron, have held bilateral talks to review and exchange ideas on the High Level Panel (HLP) report.

The HLP report is expected to be submitted to UN Secretary General,       Ban Ki-Moon, at the end of May, 2013.

According to Liberia’s Minister Councilor at the UN, Abu Kamara, the two leaders expressed satisfaction over the imputs from consultations conducted in Liberia, Indonesia and the United Kingdom (UK).

The dispatch quotes Prime Minister Cameron as having praised the Monrovia Meeting, adding: “It was well planned and successful.”

The New York Meeting continues Wednesday, May 15, 2013 with focus on the continent’s report.

President Johnson-Sirleaf urged his colleagues to be courageous in concluding the process, aimed at finding solutions to end poverty and address other issues not included in the Millennium Development Goals (MDG).

The Liberian Leader also chaired a meeting Tuesday night, focused on issues affecting women and children.

While in the US, the Liberian President will also hold bilateral relation meetings with the US and other partners in forging the Liberia Development Agenda (LDA).
