(mylbsonline/Liberia)-The Political and Economic Counselor at the United States Embassy says the Embassy is working hard to scout potential U.S. investors to Liberia.

Mr. Chris De Angelis said: “Visitors are impressed with the speed of progress being made by Liberia since the end of the civil war.”

“The progress is vividly illustrated by the speedy construction of new commercial and residential buildings, the erection of traffic lights, among others in Monrovia and other parts of the country,” Mr. De Angelis noted.

The American Diplomat spoke in Gbarnga, Bong County, when he served as guest speaker at the second general annual assembly of the Liberia Credit Union National Association (LCUNA).

“After ten years of peace and moderate economic growth, Liberia is at a critical transition.”

De Angelis told mylbsonline that organizing Credit Unions across the country plays a critical role in Liberia’s future development.

According to him, success scored by Credit Unions rests on the commitment of their members.

He encouraged LCUNA members to support efforts to serve rural and urban communities.

The U.S. Ambassador near Monrovia underscored the need to prioritize financial inclusion at the community level.
