(mylbsonline/Liberia)-President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf is urging the African Development Bank (ADB) and other entities to be proactive in addressing delay in realizing Africa’s full economic potentials.

President Johnson-Sirleaf also wants African Leaders move quickly to use the available opportunities for economic growth.

She said: “This will promote regional integration and prevent the misguided economic and trade-related activities.”

The Liberian Leader cautioned the continent to speed up the building of infrastructure, including transport, power and telecommunications system, across countries’ borders.

“If the continent is to receive the benefits of the current investment and the advancement of the African Renaissance, Africans must look beyond national priorities,” President Johnson-Sirleaf said.

The President made the comments Saturday, May 25, 2013 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, following a debate on “Pan Africanism and the African Renaissance.”

The debate was part of celebration marking the Golden Jubilee of the Organization of African Unity (OAU), now the African Union (AU).
