(mylbsonline/Liberia)-The Liberia Football Association (LFA) has affected adjustments in its 2013 First Division League Fixture.

The Local Football House Technical Director, Henry Browne, said: “The changes in the fixture are due to change in the National Team, the Lone Star’s preparation schedule for its upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying game.”

Several top local players from various clubs have recently been called up to the National Team as it prepares for the June 8, 2013 World Cup Qualifier away to the Cranes of Uganda.

“The LFA apologizes for any embarrassment you (the fans) may have encountered. We are of the conviction that the league will not be interrupted again,” the LFA said in the statement.

According to the re-adjusted fixture, games that should have taken place Wednesday, May 29,
2013 have now been pushed to this weekend at the various venues.

Five games will take place Saturday, June 1, with Monrovia Club Breweries and jubilee FC to meet at the Unification Town field in Lower Margibi County.

LPRC Oilers will play Fatu FC in the early match at the ATS, and game two will come on between Gedi and Sons, and Mighty Blue Angels.

Nimba United will host Invincible Eleven (IE) at the Sanniquellie stadium, while Ganta Black Star will play host to Watanga FC at the Ganta City sports pitch in Nimba County.

The honoring of League fixtures has been a difficult issue for the Liberia Football Association since the civil war, more than ten years ago.

The Musa Bility administration has made efforts to come out with a full season fixture this term, but there have been some bottlenecks in having the games or the fixtures honored by both the LFA and local clubs.

Currently, there are few outstanding matches in both first and second divisions, thus creating problems at times for the league as was the case with some of last season’s outstanding fixtures for the both divisions.
