(mylbsonline.com/Liberia)-For the first time in 42 years, the Liberian Government has opened the Save left behind by the 19th President of Liberia, William Vacanarat Shadrach Tubman.

According to President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, the Save was opened recently, following several month consultations with the Cabinet.

It contains several vital documents that will significantly contribute towards the peace and reconciliation process.

She spoke Thursday, June 20, 2013, during the official launch of the National Reconciliation implementation process in Monrovia.

President Johnson-Sirleaf said: “The Save also contains the original Liberian Constitution and the Decoration of Independence, among others.

The Liberian Leader also noted: “Some of the documents seen in the Save, stored at the old Centennial Memorial Pavilion on Ashmun Street, will help identify the root causes of the Liberian civil conflict.”

Meanwhile, the President has set up a four-member taskforce to take full inventory of all documents contained in the Save.

The taskforce is headed by the Center for Documentation with the Director of the Executive Protection Force, among others as members.
