Lower House introduces Govt Completion Bill

(mylbsonline.com/Liberia)- A bill for the completion of the formation of government, 90 days after inauguration, has been introduced at the House of Representatives.

The crafter of the Government Completion Bill, Nimba County Representative, Larry Younquoi, said: “The passage of the Bill is in compliance with Article 54 of the Liberian Constitution.”

Article 54 of the Liberian Constitution provides for the completion of the government in ninety days, following the induction of the President.

Representative Younquoi told mylbsonline: “The passage of the Bill will address crucial constitutional lapses and enhance good governance in the country.”

The District Eight lawmaker expressed delight over the level of support for the bill among his colleagues at the Lower House since its introduction.

The Nimba County lawmaker is meanwhile urging the Upper House (Senate) for its concurrence.
