Prez. Sirleaf suspends 4 officials, commends others

(mylbsonline.com/Liberia)-Four government officials at the Labor and Internal Affairs Ministries have been suspended, with immediately, effective  from their respective positions.

According to an Executive Mansion release, President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf took the decision against the four officials Tuesday, August 13, 2013.

The four officials were suspended, because they were absent from work when the President visited their respective offices in Monrovia.

The release said: “Those suspended for one month without pay are Deputy Minister for Administration, Attorney Cole Bangalu, Assistant Minister for Research and Statistics, Richard Ngafuan, and Assistant Minister for Regional Labor Affairs, Prince Korvah.”

At the same time, the Liberian Leader has also suspended with immediately effective, River Gee County Superintendent, Daniel Johnson.

The release noted: “The President suspended Superintendent Johnson for one month without pay for violation of Government’s procurement and financial rules.”

Mr. Johnson’s suspension is based on recent recommendation by Internal Affairs Minister, Morris Dukuly.

Meanwhile, President Johnson-Sirleaf has commended officials of the Ministries of Lands, Mines and Energy, and Agriculture, as well as the General Services Agency (GSA) for their presence at their respective offices during her Tuesday morning surprised visit.
