Liberia makes progress in peace maintenance-Dobraja

(mylbsonline.com/Liberia)-World Bank Country Manager, Iguna Dobraja, says: “Liberia has made tremendous progress in maintaining peace after ten years of conflict in the country.

Madam Dobraja described the sustenance of peace, economic stability, and reaching the HIPIC point, among others, as worthy achievements that must be celebrated.
She, however, said: “The country is still fragile, owing to several risk factors.”

The World Bank Country Manager named security, human capacity, development problems, and land disputes, among others, as some of the risk factors.

Madam Dobraja spoke Friday, August 16, 2013 at the launch of the Joint Country Partnership Strategy for Liberia.
She reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to supporting government address such issues to ensure that stability is maintained in the country.

“The joint country partnership program will contribute to sustaining growth and poverty reduction from 2013 to 2017,” the Bank official also noted.
