Prez. Sirleaf vows to use Executive Decrees if

(mylbsonline.com/Liberia)-Liberian President, Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, has vowed to use Executive Decrees to implement the Code of Conduct Act.

President Johnson-Sirleaf vowed to take the decision, if the National Legislature fails to pass the Act into law.

She said: “The creation of the Code of Conduct Act is part of efforts by government to fight corruption.”

The Liberian Leader said: “Both the Agenda for Transformation and, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) recommendations also emphasized the need for an aggressive fight against corruption.”

President Johnson-Sirleaf said: “Government is committed to fighting corruption in any form and manner as Liberians celebrate ten years of sustained peace.”

“The fight against corruption should not be left with the President alone, but with the Executive, Legislative and Judicial Branches of Government, and with all Liberians.”

The Liberian President made the statement Monday, August 19, 2013 at program marking the celebration of decades of Peace at the Centennial Memorial Pavilion in Monrovia.
