UNDP Outgoing Country Rep. predicts Liberias future

(mylbsonline/Liberia)-Out-going UNDP Country Representative, Dominic Sam, has described Liberia as a success story among other post-conflict countries around the world.

Mr. Sam said:” Liberia has made tremendous gains in few years after a devastating civil conflict.”

“Liberia has windows of opportunities between now and 2017 geared at making the country better through collaborative efforts.” He emphasized.

Mr. Sam made the statement Friday, August 23, 2013 at the Foreign Ministry in Monrovia when he was honored by the Liberian government for his enormous contributions to Liberia’s reconstruction.

“It will require the efforts of Liberians to work together with a renewed sense of determination to develop their country.” The Outgoing UNDP Country Representative added.

According to Mr. Sam, the civil society and media can play a pivotal role in the realization of Liberia’s development agenda through constructive collaboration.

Speaking behalf of the Government and people of Liberia, President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, praised Mr. Sam for his hard work and contributions made during his tenure. “You are a reliable partner and friend, indeed. “ The President noted.

During the program, Mr. Sam was also gowned by the Liberian government as a traditional honor for his service to humanity.
