( Dr. Mills Jones’ leadership at the Central Bank of Liberia will be shared with the Country’s Football.

Dr. Jones has been picked by the Bility administration to facilitate a two-day retreat.

The football house says the institution’s SWOT analysis is expected to be high when the CBL governor mounts the podium to deliberate.

CBL Governor Jones will deliberate on the topic: “The way forward for football in Liberia,” as the administration strives to derive at the best solution to resuscitate Liberian football, now at lower ebb.”

The retreat precedes the delayed Liberia Football Association’s 18th ordinary Congress and the mass gathering, earlier scheduled statutorily for March, 2013 now takes place on September7.

The retreat will be held at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia, instead of Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County, as was predetermined by the 2011 Congress in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County.

An LFA dispatch said: “Congress normally lasts for just one day and we’ve observed that the delegates do not have ample time to exhaust the bulky documents under review.”

“The two-day retreat is significant to giving the stakeholders a broader insight of what will unfold at the September 7 gathering,” said LFA communications Director, Henry Flomo.

National 3rd division playoff champions, New Hope FC, from the Margibi LFA Sub-Association league, now qualified for the 2nd tier.

The team joins runners-up, Muscat FC, from Montserrado County to gain statutory endorsement from the pending Congress, thus admitting them into the 2nd division national league for next season.

The LFA statement further noted: “The administration of the Liberia Football Association continues to break from the past by constantly being against historical odds, preparing and presenting annual audited financial and activity reports to its membership as mandated by Statute.”

Congress delegates will include officials of 1st and 2nd division top flights, and heads of sub-associations, sub-committees and affiliate members of the LFA.

The Congress agenda is not limited to discussions on the Voscon audited financial report, activity report and the insertion into the LFA Statute of the recently amended versions of the CAF and FIFA Statutes, but on the unprecedented LFA annual calendar of events.

The LFA annual puts the pending National Championship League to October and forms part of the deliberations.
