(mylbsonline.com/Liberia)-Strikers, who were not part of Lonestar’s long, but unsuccessful run in the 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign, have been given a first-in-a-lifetime opportunity to dawn the national colors.

LFA Spokesman, Henry Flomo, has told mylbsonline.com that Netherlands-based striker, Yousif Sheriff, who has patiently craved a call-up to the senior national football team, has realized his dream.

Sheriff, plying his trade for V.V Hoogland in the Dutch 2nd division league, will face off against Angola’s Palancas Negras on September 6, 2013 in Luanda.

The youngster will share this first-time opportunity with compatriot, Prince Boley.

Boley, 24, features for Kaya FC in the Philippines United Football League-one. His club sits 4th on the league table with 31 points from 18 matches played thus far.

The leaders, Stallion, lead with 46 points, followed by Global with 43 so far.

Patrick Wleh and Francis “Grandpa” Doe, who both play professional football in Malaysia, were the key actors in Liberia’s frontline from the start of qualifiers for the both 2-13 Africa Cup of Nations and the Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup.

The Country slipped off a place for the Nations Cup finals, surrendering the one-team slot to Nigeria, who eventually became Africa’s champions.

The sit-in technical staff, under the support of Lone Star’s ex-midfielder, Frank Jericho Nagbe, has now switched its faith from the Malaysia-based duo, to Yousif and Prince, whose debut appearances for Liberia do not come on home soil, rather away to Angola who share 4 points.

Liberia is at the bottom of Group J of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers for the African zone.

The Liberian National team, Lonestar, is continuing technical build-up at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in central Monrovia, ahead of their take-off for Luanda on September 4, 2013.

Whether Liberia wins or draws next week-end against the Palancas Negras, they will not progress further to the play-off stage of the Brazil World Cup finals.
