LCC adopts 8-count declaration to resolve land disputes

(mylbsonline.com/Liberia)-An eight-count declaration to resolve land disputes in Liberia has been adopted by the Liberia Council of Churches. The Declaration was done, in collaboration with churches in West Africa.

The Council said: “We will not ignore the forty percent of Liberia’s land now being occupied by concession companies.”

“We are committed to total involvement in civic education, relative to land issues in various churches and institutions of learning,” the Council of Churches also said.

The LCC Resolution also called for community participation in concession agreements and for concession companies to live up to their social responsibilities.

Government officials, Civil Society Organizations and church leaders participated in the gathering.
