15-man medical team due in Liberia shortly

(mylbsonline.com/Liberia)-A team of 15 medical doctors from the United States and Germany is expected in Liberia shortly.

The medical team is coming to the country to provide free medical services to prisoners across the country.

The disclosure was made Wednesday, September 11, 2013 in Monrovia by the Executive Director of the Prison Fellowship Liberia, Francis Kollie.

Prison Fellowship Liberia is a humanitarian organization that caters to the Welfare of prisoners in the country.
While in the country, the doctors will also provide free medical services to the disabled community.

The Prison Fellowship Liberia Executive Director told mylbsonline.com: “The initiative will carried out in collaboration with the government and the Prison Fellowship International based in the Diaspora.”

He underscored the compelling need to provide quality health services to prisoners and the disabled.
“My institution is currently engaged in the rehabilitation of prisoners to ensure they become productive citizens,” he also said.

Mr. Kollie further noted: “Prisoners in Kakata, Margibi County are currently benefiting from vocational education at the prison center, where the Fellowship established a training center.

According to Mr. Kollie, the medical team will be in Liberia for about three weeks.
