(mylbsonline.com/Liberia)-The Director General of the Gabriel Dennis Foreign Service Institute in Monrovia has described the recent Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Liberia and India as remarkable initiative.

Dr. Augustine Konneh said: “The idea will help in the exchange of knowledge and experience among graduates of the Foreign Service Institutes of both Liberia and India.

“In accordance with the MOU, several graduates of the Gabriel Dennis Foreign Service Institute will shortly leave Liberia for India on a three month exposure program,” Dr. Konneh also said.

He made the comments Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at his Foreign Ministry office in Monrovia.

Director General Konneh noted: “Another batch of FSI graduates will also benefit from similar fellowship by February, 2014.”

The Gabriel Dennis Service Institute has been criticized for allegedly preferring non-graduates over those who went through the school in terms of placement to foreign missions.

Dr. Konneh added: “Appointment to Foreign Missions is the sole prerogative of the President of Liberia.” He, however, called on all FSI graduates to exercise restraint as the Institute is doing everything possible to seek their welfare.
