( 25, 2013)-The Management of the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) says the entity is committed to sending out credible information to the public.

LBS Director-General, Darryl Ambrose Nmah, said: “My administration will not allow any individual or group of people to send misleading information to and inciting the public through the State Radio.”

Mr. Nmah said: “The measure is part of my administration’s plan to enable Liberians trust information broadcast on the national radio and television.”

He also clarified: “Management does not stop critical views on State Radio and Television, as claimed by some individuals. The station was established to inform, entertain, and educate the public.”

Mr. Nmah spoke over the week-end at an intellectual forum, organized by the “Togetherness Association” in Paynesville, outside the Liberian Capital, Monrovia.

The LBS Director-General, however, noted: “There are still challenges confronting my administration.” He named such challenges as limited budgetary support, infrastructure, and State-of-the-Art equipment.

Mr. Nmah also added: “A 10kw TV transmitter has arrived in Liberia to boost LBS Television signal to other parts of the country.”
