( Managing Editor of Front Page Africa, Rodney Sieh, has been given a temporary release from prison.

Attorney General, Counselor Christina Tah, granted what is legally considered, “compassionate” leave.

According to the Director of Public Affairs at the Ministry of Justice, Maud Somah, journalist Sieh was entitled to such compassionate leave, because he was not in jail for criminal offence.

Mrs. Somah told via mobile phone, journalist Sieh will be out for thirty days after which the Attorney General could determine the next course of action.

She clarified that journalist Sieh is not out completely as a   free man, but the compassionate leave was given him, due to his poor health.

Rodney Sieh was imprisoned for his refusal to pay US$1.5m after he was found guilty in a libel suit filed against him recently.

Former Agriculture Minister, Chris Toe, had filed the libel suit against Journalist Sieh for accusing him (Minister Toe) of stealing thousands of public funds.
