(mylbsonline.com/Liberia/Oct. 9/2013)-The Parliament of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is calling on regional leaders to domesticate and ratify protocols and conventions signed by their countries.

The call was made by ECOWAS Parliamentarians at the end the 2013 first session held in the Nigerian Capital, Abuja.

Making the disclosure upon arrival in the country from the regional Parliamentary Session, Senator Mobutu Nyenpan said: “ECOWAS Parliament considers the delay as an impediment to its work.”

Senator Nyenpan also said: “Key regional development issues, including integration, trade, electricity, and security were at the session.”

In his report, he disclosed that the President of the ECOWAS Commission, Kadree Quadraogo, expressed delight that the region is experiencing a steady growth, despite its current problems.

The Sinoe County Senator also quoted the commission’s President as saying that calm has returned to northern Mali.
