CRTV gives LBS 80 digital decoders

(mylbsonline.com/Liberia/Oct. 28/2013) Eighty pieces of Digital Television decoders have been presented the Management of the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS).

The items were presented the LBS Management Monday, October 28, 2013 by the current technical team of China Radio and Television (CRTV) partnering with the national broadcaster.

The decoders will be used by subscribers to get connected to the LBS digital television signal.

The items come at a time when LBS is nearing completion of installing its 10Kilowatt digital television transmitter.

According to the Head of CRTV Technical Working Team, Fang Xiao Guang, the decoders will also enhance services being provided by the Liberia National Television (LNTV) as it moves toward digital migration.

Receiving the items, LBS Director General, Darryl Ambrose Nmah, thanked the CRTV Technical Working Team for the digital broadcasting equipment.

Mr. Nmah said: “The 10-kilowatt television transmitter, provided by the Government of the Peoples Republic of China, will increase LNTV’s coverage to the Liberian populace.”

He also praised the Chinese Government for donating a 450–KVA generator to LBS.

The LBS Director-General added: “There is a dire need for continued cooperation between LBS and CRTV, especially support LBS is receiving from the Chinese Radio and Television Station as the LBS strides to migrate to the digital age.”
