Prez. Sirleaf congratulates Turkey on National Day

(mylbsonline.com/Liberia/Oct.31/2013) Liberian President, Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, has described Liberia-Turkey relations as being encouraging and rewarding over the years.

President Johnson-Sirleaf ‘s statement was contained in her congratulatory message to the Government and People of  Turkey in observance of Turkey’s National Day, Tuesday, October 29, 2013. 

The President said: “Liberia has continued receiving economic and technical support from Turkey.”

In her message to Turkish President, Abdullah Gui, THE Liberian Leader conveyed warmest felicitations and best wishes to the Government and People of Turkey as the Eastern European nation commemorates its 90th National Day. 

She praised the Turkish Police Contingent serving in UNMIL in fulfillment of the United Nations’ mandate for the promotion of international peace and security.

She also commended Turkey’s participation in the High Level Panel Meeting convened in Monrovia this year.

President Johnson-Sirleaf then wished: “As the people of Turkey commemorate ninety years of national existence as a sovereign and independent nation, the cordial friendship enjoyed by the two countries and peoples will further be enhanced.”

“It is my fervent hope that our two governments and peoples will work together for mutual benefits, particularly toward peace, security and prosperity,” the Liberian President concluded in her message.
