Legislature to take Petroleum draft Law to Liberians

(mylbsonline.com/Liberia/Nov.1/2013) The National Legislature says it will shortly embark on a nation-wide tour to take the Petroleum Draft Law to the Liberian people.

The nation-wide tour is to explain the Petroleum Draft Law to the citizenry and gather their views about the draft oil and gas law.

House Speaker, Alex Tyler, made the disclosure Thursday, October 31, 2013 at the Information Ministry’s regular news conference.

Speaker Tyler said: “The essence of the interaction with the citizens is to ensure that every Liberian benefit from whatever resources that may be extracted from the country.”

According to the House Speaker, Members of the National Legislature will also explain to the citizens the bills that have been passed and bills still in committee room.

The cost of the nation-wide tour has not been disclosed to the Liberian people as yet.
