(mylbsonline.com/Liberia/Nov.1/2013) Health workers in Liberia have been urged to strive for diligence and practice evidence-based health-care delivery in the discharge of their duties.

The Executive Director of Public Health Initiative Liberia (PHIL), Joyce Jarwolo, says health workers are life-savers who should observe ethics governing the profession associated with their work at all times.

Madam Jarwolo disclosed that her organization has plans to forge strong partnerships with a number of health-care institutions to help empower their staff to function more effectively.

Madam Jarwolo named the promotion of research and advocacy for improved health sector, and ensuring accountability and building leadership amongst health workers as some of the organization’s priority areas of partnering with local and international health-related institutions.

The local non-governmental organization will be officially launched Friday, November 1, 2013 in Monrovia.
