Prez. Sirleaf appoints Acting FIU Board Chairman, members

(mylbsonline.com/Liberia/Nov. 5/2013) President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has appointed several individuals to act as members of the Board of Directors of the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) of Liberia.

According to an Executive Mansion release, those appointed are Central Bank of Liberia, Chairperson, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Finance and National Defense, members.

Others are, the Liberia Chamber of Commerce, Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission, Liberia Media Center, and Director of FIU.

The release further noted that the appointment of the Board of Directors by the President is in keeping with Section 67.7 of the Act establishing the Finance Intelligence Unit of Liberia in 2002 and approved April 30, 2013.

The Act was published by the Authority of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on May 2, 2013.
