(mylbsonline.com/Liberia/Nov. 4/2013) President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has been invited to an international legislative summit to be hosted by the Nigerian Government later this month.

The legislative summit, expected to bring together legislators from Africa and other continents, will be attended by Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan.

The invitation to President Johnson-Sirleaf was contained in a message delivered by the Nigerian President’s Special Envoy, Ndoma Egba San.

Responding, the Liberian President welcomed the Special Presidential Envoy and delegation to Liberia and said: “I am always pleased with international guests and friends who pay regular visits to Liberia.”

She told the Nigerian Senate Leader: “President Jonathan knows my commitment to honoring his calls.”

The President, however, assured representation in the event where she is unable to attend personally.

The Liberian Leader expressed delight over the invitation, since the presence of an “Executive” President at a conference of legislators is unprecedented.

The Nigerian legislative delegation was escorted to President Johnson-Sirleaf’s office by Nigeria’s Ambassador to Liberia, Chigozie Obi-Nnadozie.
