(mylbsonline.com/Liberia/Nov. 15/2015) Information and Broadcasting Committee Chairman at the House of Representatives, Richmond Anderson, has proposed a ‘One Dollar Bill’ at the National Legislature for the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS).

Representative Anderson says the One Dollar Bill would help provide adequate support to the State Broadcaster.

The Montserrado County Representative made the statement Friday, November 15, 2013 on the System’s Main Compound in Paynesville at the dedication of the newly established LBS Digital TV Mobile Broadcast facility, and the official launch of the System’s ‘One Dollar’ Campaign.

He said: “The Bill will provide more legal guidance and serve as a national platform for the Liberian people to contribute to the sustenance of LBS.”

“If introduced and subsequently passed into law, the instrument will also make the citizens take ownership of the facility and ensure that Liberia easily meets the digital migration period,” the House Information and Broadcasting Committee Chairman added.

Representative Anderson then commended the Management of LBS for the ongoing transformation at the State Broadcaster.

He further encouraged the LBS Management to continue exerting more efforts so that National Government and partners can continue supporting its drive towards meeting the digitalization deadline.
