UL Agriculture College harvests 25-acre rice farm

(mylbsonline.com/Liberia/Nov.8/2013) The University of Liberia (UL) Agriculture College has begun harvesting its rice planted on 25- acres of rice farm at Fendell.

The project is intended to revitalize the college to strengthen its capacity for research purpose.

UL Vice president for Institutional Development, Walter Wiles, told mylbsonline.com that the project seeks to equip students with basic practical and research skills.

Dr. Wiles said: “Proceeds from the project will be distributed among five hundred sixty farmers in 3 counties.”
The three counties include, Gbarpolu, Bomi and Grand Cape mount.

The over US$300,000.00 project was implemented by the Rockefeller Foundation.
