(mylbsonline.com/Liberia/Nov.19/2913) Liberia’s oldest existing football club, the Invincible Eleven (IE), have announced they will go to the polls next year (2014).

According to a dispatch from the Club’s Board and Acting Leadership, IE’s elections will take place January, 2014 to usher in a new leadership.

The football club is being run under its mother umbrella, the IE Majestic Sports Association

Positions to be contested include President, Vice Presidents, Secretary General, Assistant Secretary General, Financial Secretary, Chaplain, Treasurer, among others.

The dispatch restricts election and campaign activities only to members, fans and officials of the IE Majestic Sports Association.

“No players will be involved with the electoral process,” the dispatch, quoting the club’s Board and Acting Leadership, added.

Submission of applications from interested candidates will run from December 2 to 20, while regularization of membership for all eligible voters takes place from December 16 to January 11, 2014.

Registration Centers are established in Montserrado and Margibi Counties, while the polls will take place January 27 in Monrovia.

A topnotch businessman, Sam Gibson, currently heads IE as Acting President. He filled in the vacancy amid the resignation of another business magnate, Dr. Richard V. Tolbert.

Mr. Tolbert served a legitimate two year term, but was allowed to go another 12 months on mandate of the Club’s Board of Directors, headed by former Energy Minister, Dr. Eugene Shannon.
