(mylbsonline.com/Liberia/Nov.20/2013) Japanese Ambassador, Naoto Nikai, maintains that the Somalia Drive reconstruction project will commence December, 2013.

According to Ambassador Naoto, a bidding process set in motion by the Japanese Government for the selection of a suitable company to reconstruct the road has already commenced in the Japanese Capital, Tokyo.

Signing on behalf of the Liberian Government, Acting Foreign Minister Elias Shoniyin commended the Japanese Government for its continued support to Liberia.

Mr. Shoniyin prayed that the friendly ties subsisting between Liberia and Japan will continue to benefit their two peoples in the years ahead.

It can be recalled that following negotiations, Liberians were assured that the commencement of the Somalia Drive reconstruction project will take place as scheduled.

Somalia Drive is one of the busiest roads in Montserrado County.

It lies west of the Liberian Capital, Monrovia, linking the City to the provincial city of Paynesville, through Gardnerville.
