President Ellen Sirleaf has described her visit to France, Belgium, and the Netherlands as very successful.

The Liberian Leader said her meeting with the European Commission attracted a $50 million dollars grant from the EU to improve the health and micro-economic sectors of Liberia.

President Sirleaf made the disclosure upon her return home from the Republic of France, Belgium and the Netherlands Sunday, November 11 2012.

She said $43million of the amount is meant for the health sector, while $15million is intended for micro-economic sector of the country. Madam Sirleaf, was on an official visit to France, upon the request of the French President, His Excellency François Hollande.

President Sirleaf was conferred upon France’s highest honor by her canter part President Hollande in recognition of her progressive work in Liberia and with the leaders of the sub-region, to bring peace and development to West Africa.

Madam Sirleaf also on her second lap of her visit, met with member of parliament of the Netherlands and briefed them of her administration, noting that the international community is pleased with the happenings in Liberia.

President Sirleaf has therefore, called on Liberians to continue to work for peace, reconciliation and national development in the interest of the nation.

According to the Liberian Leader, while on the trip she  met with the Belgium Senate and the European Commission, and had a dinner with the Queen and Princess of Netherlands  at which time she was conferred upon again another honor, an honorary degree.
