MONROVIA, LIBERIA-(JARP DAVIES)-Health Authorities in Liberia have announced plans to vaccinate dogs across the Country to prevent Rabies.
Rabies is a disease that causes swelling of the brain in humans and is contracted through dog bite.
The Acting Director of the National Public Health Institute of Liberia, Dr. Mosoka Fallah, said:” The entity will shortly begin immunizing dogs while creating more awareness on the virus and responsible dog ownership.”
Speaking with ELBC Thursday, January 16, 2020, Dr. Fallah said that two people have died in the past three months from Rabies.
Meanwhile, the NPHIL Director General is calling on the public to seek immediate medical attention in case of dog bite.
