MONROVIA,LIBERIA (Daniel Ankrah)-Commerce Minister Wilson Tarpeh has attributed the shortage of petroleum product on the Liberian Market to the reported failure of a large vessel carrying petroleum products to dock at the Free Port of Monrovia.

Minister Tarpeh said:” The port requires urgent dredging to allow large vessels to dock.”

Speaking with ELBC Monday, January 27, 2020, the Commerce Minister said that the vessel had to return to a neighboring country and has not returned to Liberia.

Minister Tarpeh said:” The Commerce Ministry and other stakeholders are holding meetings with all petroleum importers to find solution to the shortage of petroleum products.”

Meanwhile, the Commerce Minister is urging the public to be patient, as they are working to find a lasting solution to the problem.
