MONROVIA, LIBERIA (Wholquoi Yeahgar Reports) -The Ministry of Health says it needs an initial investment of US3Million to put into place measures to guide Liberia against an outbreak of the Corona virus.
Appearing before the House of Representatives Thursday, Liberia’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Francis Kateh wants Stakeholders detached politics from the fight against the virus.
According to him, the lack of initial investment to fight against the deadly Ebola virus in 2014, led to its widespread.
Dr. Kateh said the dangers associated with the Corona virus cannot be overemphasized. He spoke Thursday, January 30, 2020 at a press conference in Monrovia.
He said Government and partners are exerting efforts to protect Liberia against an outbreak of the virus in the Country.
While at the same time, the Acting Director General of the National Public Health Institute of Liberia, Dr. Mosoka Fallah, says the Liberian Government has enhanced screening at the Roberts International Airport.
Dr. Fallah said, an isolation center erected adjacent the RIA will be used to transfer persons suspected of the virus.
According to him, since the outbreak of the Corona virus in China, the ambulance service is more active.
He said NPHIL has also intensified surveillance at hospitals across the Country.
The Acting Director of the National Public Health Institute of Liberia made the remarks Thursday during an appearance at the House of Representatives.
