Monrovia Liberia – Liberia now has the ability to conduct test for corona virus; that’s according to the Director General of the National Public Health Institute Dr. Mosoka Fallah.
Dr. Fallah said they have brought in country the needed chemicals to do the test instead of sending samples abroad.
He said with the arrival of the regent, NPHIL and partners now have the capacity to conduct test making use of existing laboratories previously used for the Ebola Virus Disease.
According to Dr. Fallah, the six kits of Premier Probes and Regents for CONVID-19 can run up to one thousand reactions.
The NPHIL Boss made the disclosure in an ELBC interview Tuesday.
The move represents a significant breakthrough in efforts by the National Public Health to prevent the outbreak of the Corona Virus in Liberia.
Meanwhile 25 persons have been discharged from observation centers set up by NPHIL and partners to monitor people coming to Liberia from countries affected by the Corona Virus outbreak.
It comes after they have completed fourteen days of observation without showing any signs of the corona virus.
Dr. Fallah said twenty three were discharged on Monday February 17, while the other two were sent home on Sunday February 16.
The twenty five include nine foreign nationals and sixteen Liberian students who have returned from China.
