UNDP Gesture Ends ‘Years of Constraints’ at Liberian Government Hospital in Tubmanburg

Monrovia Liberia – The Liberian Government Hospital in Tubmanburg, Bomi County has received a major boost with full installation of Solar Power System.

This means the facility now has a 24 hour supply of electricity and therefore don’t have to worry about power outage.

The Solar Power System was provided by one of Liberia’s leading development partners, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

Bomi County Senjeh District Representative Edwin Melvin Snowe has described the gesture as one that will undoubtedly bring to an end, years of constraints in getting the hospital fully powered.

In a statement, Representative Snowe expressed gratitude to partners especially the UNDP for their continuous support to the Liberian Government Hospital in Tubmanburg, Bomi County.

“We are profoundly grateful and excited that Liberia’s cleanest hospital, the Liberian Government Hospital, in Tubmanburg, Bomi County received a major boost with the installation of Solar Power System that is going to provide 24 hours electricity to the hospital” Rep Snowe said in a statement on his Facebook account on Tuesday March 3, 2020.

He added “as Chairman of the Hospital Board and Representative of Senjeh District which hosts the hospital, I extend heartfelt appreciation to our development partner, the UNDP, for the gesture which has undoubtedly brought to end years of constraints in getting the hospital fully powered. Bomi will be great”.

Representative Snowe has been heavily involved with the Hospital, bringing in Medical supplies and other basic needs of the Liberian Government Hospital.

The donation and installation of the solar power system comes as a major relief to citizens of Bomi County and nearby areas at this time when power supply at major health facilities remains a big challenge facing the health sector.
