Monrovia, Liberia – The Liberia National Police has issued a stern warning to the general public to stick by all new measure put in place by the Liberian Government through the Ministry of Health and the National Public Health Institute.
The Police warning comes in the wake of the declaration of a health emergency and new preventive measures by Health Minister Dr. Whillimena Jallah over the weekend.
It followed the confirmation of Liberia’s third case of Coronavirus.
According to a LNP statement issued Sunday, Police Inspector General, Patrick Sudue has mandated all officers to carryout stringent enforcement in line with new measures announced by the Government of Liberia.
“The LNP informs the public that it remains prepared in enforcing new measures announced and will leave no stone unturned in making sure that citizens and residents comply with these measures as we together fight to kick Coronvirus out of Liberia. The LNP notes that these are critical times when we all have to listen to health authorities instead of relying on our own understanding. Together, we can all help to fight this deadly pandemic out of Liberia” the statement added.
The LNP also warned those in the constant habit of circulating false information which undermines the Coronavirus fight to desist, or face actions in line with the rule of law.
