MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia and the European Union (EU) are expected to sign two financing agreements today Friday, May 22, 2020.
According to the agreements, the EU will provide 59 million United States Dollars to support Liberia’s Rural Electrification and Technical Vocational Educational Training (TVET) programs.
A Finance Ministry release issued on May 21, 2020, says the Rural Electrification Program seeks to increase prosperity and accelerate development in the Country, through the provision of sustainability in Southeastern Liberia.
The release says the EU-TVET Program is geared towards improving the quality, relevance and modernization of TVET by strengthening links with the private sector.
According to the release, Finance Minister, Samuel Tweah, will sign for the Government of Liberia, while EU Head of delegation, Ambassador Helene Cave, will sign for the European Union.
