by Maximilian K. Kasseh jr

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Widespread public violations have been reported in Monrovia and other parts of the Country.

Liberia’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Francis Karteh told ELBC Monday, June 1, 2020, that the public has refused to wear masks in public places, in total violation of Government’s sanctioned health protocols.

Dr.Karteh said:” Liberia’s COVID-19 infection could worsen if the public continues to violate health protocols.”

The Chief Medical Officer, however, called on the public to cooperate by upholding social distancing and the compulsory wearing of masks to prevent the spread of the virus.

Dr.Karteh also warned the public, especially commercial drivers engaged in willful violation of the 6pm lockdown restriction, to desist or risk the consequence of non-compliance.

He disclosed that the Incident Management System will deploy at various checkpoints to conduct voluntary testing for public health violators, in support of its scale-up exercise for COVID-19.
