MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian National Bar Association (LBA) has, with immediate effect, expelled Cllr. Ndubusi Nwabudike, Chairman of the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC).
Two-third of the bar members of the National Executive Council voted to expel Cllr. Nwabudike with his name taken off the organization’s roster.
Addressing a news conference Friday, June 19, 2020, LNBA President Cllr. Tiawon Gongloe disclosed that the decision will shortly be communicated to President George Weah.
Cllr. Gongloe added that House Speaker Bhofal Chambers, Senate Pro Temp Albert Chie and Chief Justice Francis Korkpor, will all be notified about the Bar’s decision.
Cllr. Nwabudike expulsion comes following an investigation by the Bar Association Grievance and Ethics Committee over issues of his citizenship.
Cllr. Gongloe said:” The doubt raised by extension cast a very dark cloud over the integrity and credibility of the Bar and Judiciary in evaluating applicants for admission into the legal profession.”
