MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Institute of Statistics and Geo Information Services (LISGIS) has highlighted Child Mortality as a major challenge facing the health sector in the Country.
According to the latest Liberia Demographic Health Survey, one in every eleven Liberian Children dies before reaching five years old.
The 2019-2020 Key Indicator Report released by LISGIS Tuesday, June 24, 2020, also said sixty-three out of every one-thousand live births die before reaching the age of one.
LISGIS has also reported encouraging increases in the number of pregnant women receiving prenatal and postnatal care, and whose births are assisted by skilled healthcare provider.
The report has, meanwhile, indicated an increase in demand for contraceptives and family planning services among married Liberian women.
