MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has submitted to the House of Representatives critical issues regarding the state of the 2020/2021 National Budget.
In a communication to the body on Thursday, July 2, 2020, President Weah revealed that the formulation of the National Budget remains exceptionally constrained.
According to him, the ongoing impasse of the COVID-19 pandemic, increasing expenditure demands necessitate the formulation of the budget, which addresses critical public expenditure.
He added that Government remains committed in addressing these challenges, through appropriate and effective policy intervention.
The Liberian Leader has, therefore, requested the Body’s approval for the execution of one-twelve of the fiscal year 2020/2021 National Budget, based on the recast budget of 2019/2020 of five-hundred-eighteen million United States Dollars.
Meanwhile, no definite decision has been reached by the House of Representatives.
