MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Vice President Jewel Howard- Taylor says salary harmonization for staffers of the Legislature will commence next week.

Vice President Taylor made the disclosure Thursday, July 24, 2020, during a meeting with aggrieved staffers of the Senate to resolve the reported salary disparities amongst them.

During the meeting, the Vice President said:” With the consent of the Leadership of the Legislature, the Civil Servant Agency has put in the necessary mechanism to ensure the plight of the aggrieved staffers is resolved.”

The salary harmonization process followed a recent sit-in- action by aggrieved staffers of the Senate, to address salary disparities among them.

In another development, House Speaker Dr. Bhofal Chambers has boasted of strong coordination between the Legislative and the Executive Branches, for the transformation of Liberia.

Speaker Chambers said:” The relationship will further address the challenges impeding the growth and development of the Country over the years.”

The Speaker said:” The two branches strongly believe   Liberia’s resources can only benefit the Country and its people, if national leaders work together with one purpose.”

He said the resources of Liberia can be used for rapid development of the country like Botswana and Singapore, the two countries once considered the poorest in Africa and the world.

Speaking at a news conference Thursday, July 23, 2020, the Speaker called on Liberians to rally their support for the over-all development of the Country.
