MONROVIA,LIBERIA-Justice Minister Musa Dean has submitted his January 10, 2020 communication to Criminal Court ‘C’, indicating that the indictment drawn against Crane Currency is been dropped.

It followed threat of contempt by Judge Yamie Gbeisay, after Cllr. Dean failed to present the communication Tuesday, July 28,2020.

Minister Dean, Chief Prosecutor of Liberia, said he cannot and will not undermine the rule of law.

In his counter argument, Cllr. Abraham Sillah, lead defense lawyer, said:” The presentation of said instrument is important in building a strong defense for my clients, consistent with the Criminal Procedure Law of Liberia.”

Defendants Milton Weeks, Elsie Dossen Badio, Kollie Tamba, and David Farhat, all former officials of the Central Bank of Liberia, are on trial for allegedly printing extra two-billion Liberian Dollars.

They have all pleaded not guilty to multiple charges ranging from theft of property, economic sabotage, criminal facilitation and criminal conspiracy among others.
