Youth and Sports Ministry warns against clubs engagement in unauthorized sporting activities

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberian Sports Authorities are warning sporting clubs engaged in unauthorized sporting activities to desist.

Youth and Sports Minister, Zoegar Wilson, is also cautioning sporting clubs to wait for approval from the Ministry through health authorities and avoid confrontation.

Minister Wilson, however, disclosed that the Ministry is work along with health authorities to develop guidelines on COVID-19 for the resumption of sporting activities in Liberia.

At the same time, the youth and Sports Minister said the Women Football Team is preparing for games shortly, but the players will be tested for coronavirus.

Meanwhile, Minister Wilson is cautioning some politicians and others who are hosting sporting tournaments without the authorization of the Youth and Sports Ministry and in disregard to health measures.

He spoke Thursday, August 6, 2020, in an ELBC interview.
