MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) has commenced an awareness campaign on the usage of its Mobile App for tax payment receipt verification, in Montserrado County.
According to a release issued Thursday, September 3, 2020, the awareness was initiated by the Government and Not-For Profit Division, in collaboration with Taxpayer Service Division, to cover education on transport related business processes, vehicle registration and driver license eligibility.
Speaking at the start of the campaign on Thursday, September 3,2020, LRA Assistant Commissioner for Government and Not-For Profit Division, Eddie Howe, said:” The initiative is aimed at educating vehicle owners and operators.”
The release quotes Mr. Howe as saying the education exercise is centered on how vehicle owners and operators can use the LRA Mobile App, available in the Goggle-Play-Store, to also verify, vehicle registration documents, driver licenses, obtain Tax Identification Number, pay real property tax, among others.
He also noted that the LRA Mobile App, launched in 2019, is the easiest way to identify fake tax payment receipts issued by unscrupulous individuals to defraud the Liberian Government of needed revenues.
