House of Representatives passes four bills

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The House of Representatives has passed four bills, pending concurrence by the Liberian Senate.

According to ELBC Legislative Reporter, the bills include ‘An act to amend Chapter 31 of the Executing Law of 1972 to establish the Liberia Tourism Authority’.

Others are an act to amend Sub-sections One and Four of Section Seven of an act to provide for the establishment of the Liberia Maritime Authority, relating to the appointment and tenure of the Commissioner and Deputies of the entity.

The House of Representatives also passed an act to amend Sub-sections 10.6.1 (C) of an act to further amend Part One of the Business Corporation and Part Three of the Associations Law, Title 5, and Liberian Code of Laws Revised.

According to our Reporter, the body passed an act to amend the National Lottery Authority act to conduct, manage, regulate and supervise National Lotteries, Lotto and Games of Chance.

The passage of these bills on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, followed reports by two Specialized Committees, including the Committees on Judiciary and Information.
